In this site we will present cDNA microarray expression data relating to macrophage and osteoclast biology. If you use data from this site, please refer to the web address (www.macrophages.com).

NEW MACROPHAGE, OSTEOCLAST, OSTEOBLAST AND MAST CELL GENE EXPRESSION PROFILES

Arising from the international FANTOM collaboration, the Hume group has interacted with the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation to produce Affymetrix microarray data to compare the gene expression profiles of mouse macrophages, mast cells, osteoblasts and osteoclasts.

The samples provided are:

  • mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM) cultivated in CSF-1
  • BMDM treated for 1hr with 100ng/ml of lipopolysaccharide
  • BMDM treated for 7hr with 100ng/ml of lipopolysaccharide
  • Primary mouse bone marrow-derived mast cells (cultivated in interleukin 3)
  • Primary mouse calvarial osteoblasts cultured for 14 days
  • Primary mouse calvarial osteoblasts cultured for 21 days
  • Primary tissue-cultured derived mouse osteoclasts

The cellular expression dataset is strongly internally validated by known genes:
